About us & Company background Tones was founded in 1983 by Steve Barnes and Stefan Lyko as a decorating company focusing upon specialist paint finishes. Steve had been painting manager for Smallbone of Devizes and with this experience approached other companies in the field. Tones secured a contract with Mark Wilkinson Furniture to provide specialist paint finishes exclusively on their furniture all over the UK. This contract amounted to Tones completing sixty jobs for them within the space of a year. Tones diversified into wallpaper approximately 20 years ago, since then co-founder, Stefan, has become one of the best paperhangers in the UK. Apprenticed in every type of paper, especially at the luxury end where papers can cost a fortune, Stefan's services are always in demand. Hence we are recommended by every specialist wallpaper manufacturer both within the UK and around the world. We trim any wallpaper and wallcovering to order (prices on request). In addition to our paperhanging services, we continue to provide top quality decorating, graining, marbling and special finishing to the present day.
